SMASHING PUMPKINS TRIBUTE NIGHT @ ADELAIDE UNI BAR 11.07.2009

On a cold and rainy Saturday night, a dedicated group of fans turned out to celebrate all things Smashing Pumpkins-ish. Over 100 people came along to see three local Adelaide bands play a mix of Pumpkins covers and their own original songs.

To start out the night Peter from Quiet Child played a beautiful acoustic set of Smashing Pumpkins covers, including 'Soothe' and 'Mayonnaise'. Next up where Shiloh, then Double Handed who covered 'Tarantula' among others and then Quiet Child finished off the night. Even though the end came sooner than any of us expected (or were told it would be!) there was an amazing climax of Smashing Pumpkins 'Thru The Eyes of Ruby' followed up by 'The Aeroplane Flies High'.

Unfortunately my camera seems to have corrupted ALL the video files from the night (just my luck), but I did get some stills on my dSLR. Enjoy, and thanks to all the bands, Ozphoria, and all the fans who came along in support.
